Physical Activity is the Key to my Sanity

Throughout everyday, life will bring a whirlwind of emotions hurling your way from every direction imaginable. When those emotions come flooding in we are faced with two options: showing our frustration (healthy), or bottling it up (unhealthy). When we show our frustration, that is a sign of a healthy release of anger generally caused by feeling disrespected/powerless/unrecognized. However for people like myself, we can bottle those emotions up for an ongoing period of time which can be detrimental if you’re not careful. These emotions and irritations from day to day interactions can lead to an outburst of anger and/or violence.

I have personally found that by sticking to a dedicated and scheduled workout regimen, I am able to control my emotions far better than if I were to be physically inactive. Everyone needs to have some sort of release in their life weather that be gardening, weightlifting, or participating in a martial art. These outlets are essential to creating and maintaining a healthy mental attitude. Having a positive mental attitude will drastically increase your results in everything that you do.

I encourage everyone to go out and find a new physical activity that is interesting to you and see if it will help lead you to a more peaceful and clear mental state. Here is a list of some fun new activities to try in the upcoming weeks…
